Sellers get faster exposure, making the platform more attractive and competitive.
The rebuilt architecture allows for easier scaling, maintenance, and faster development cycles.
The platform handles millions of records and terabytes of media without performance loss.
Business need
Our Goal Was to Take Care of the Frontend and Maximize Its Potential
To validate the product idea and enter the market quickly with a working solution.
To ensure buyers always see the freshest, most accurate offers.
To reduce the time from listing creation to publication and attract more inventory.
To support millions of records, fast development, and seamless feature expansion.
Challenge
Different Time Zones, Tight Deadlines and High Stakes? No problem.
Unreal Estate came with a partially developed platform started by a different team. Before full development could begin, we had to conduct a thorough backend and frontend audit to assess code quality, identify risks, and recommend a viable tech stack — all within the constraints of an already tight timeline.
Unreal Estate had to launch its MVP within just 4 months. This required quickly onboarding a skilled team, running in-depth business and technical workshops to align on scope and priorities, and executing a well-planned Agile workflow — all while minimizing ramp-up time.
The solution had to integrate over 80 MLS sources and scale to handle millions of listings and terabytes of image data, demanding a robust, cloud-native architecture. At the same time, Blazity and Unreal Estate teams collaborated daily across a 9-hour time difference, with no compromise to delivery speed or quality.
Work done
From Code Audit to Scalable Architecture in Four Months
Before initiating full collaboration, we analyzed the incomplete codebase consisting of frontend and backend code started by another developers. This in-depth understanding was vital for recommending the optimal technology stack and outlining the next steps for our partnership.
We opted for Next.js as the front-end framework, driven by key factors such as performance, SEO, scalability, and fast time-to-market:
For the back-end, we decided to stay with C#, but completely refactoring the codebase.
Our focus was on:
After the audit, we conducted workshops with our lead Solution Architect and Head of Delivery. These sessions helped us gain a full understanding of Unreal Estate’s business, define the roadmap, and align the process with their internal goals.
Together with the Unreal Estate team, we:
Key outcomes of the workshops included:
Following the team onboarding, we kicked off with a "sprint 0" phase focused on technical setup, and then moved into Agile development with daily communication between Unreal Estate’s product team and our engineers.
We developed a powerful API system that integrated over 80 MLS sources across the US. This allowed the platform to present updated property listings every hour, delivering a near real-time experience that positioned Unreal Estate far ahead of its competitors.
As the project scaled, the team addressed challenges such as managing millions of listings and terabytes of images. To support this growth, we implemented a set of serverless services using Azure CosmosDB, Blob Storage, and Azure Durable Functions — ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability as the platform expanded.
Results
faster releases, real-time data
& more deals closed
Thanks to the rebuilt architecture and clean development process, Unreal Estate launched a reliable MVP in just 4 months. The platform now handles millions of listings, syncs new offers in under an hour, and delivers a real-time experience that keeps both sellers and buyers engaged.
